Frequently Asked Questions Q: Repairing the Hard Disk A: Insert the installation disc that came with your computer into the optical drive. Then restart your computer holding down the C key. Continue to hold down the C key until the Apple logo appears. After the Installer window appears on the desktop, choose Utilities > Disk Utility from the menu bar at the top of the screen. When Disk Utility opens, follow the instructions in the First Aid pane to see if the utility can repair your disk. If using Disk Utility doesn’t work, you may need to reinstall your computer’s system software. For instructions, search Mac Help for "reinstalling my computer's software" or open the software installation or restore program and follow the onscreen instructions. Back to F.A.Q. |
