Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an autoresponder?

A: An autoresponder is a program that you can set up to automatically reply to email sent to a specific address. Examples of why you might want an autoresponder:
- To inform people who email you that you have received their message. ([email protected] = Thank you for contacting our sales department. Someone will answer your query shortly.)
- To inform people that you are on holiday and might not respond to email until you return. ([email protected] = Hello, I am currently enjoying a holiday away. I will return on Friday.)
- To automatically send frequently asked information such as product information or factsheets. ([email protected] = Thank you for your interest in our product! Here are the specifications:)
Note: Attachments will not be sent through the autoresponder.

If you would like to set up an autoresponder you can do this from the 'Configure Email' option from the VCP.

Note: To prevent mail loops autoresponders remember the last 5 email addresses that sent email to them and after the first autoresponse they won't send another to those addresses for up to an hour later or until the next email moves the first address out of the queue.
